Comment spam again
Ok, it’s still ridiculous. So now, I’ve upped the filter to automatically can any comment with the word “poker” in the subject. If you’re trying to post a legitimate comment that happens to contain the word “poker”, forget it. Sorry.

Spammers. Ugh. This site has been getting hammered with comment spam lately, and last night I got fed up with trying to keep on top of it and just deleted comments wholesale, directly in the database. I thought I was discriminating based on subject, but I obviously got a bit carried away, and nuked all the comments on the site.

Summer holidays
Summer holidays at the beach are always better anticipated and remembered than actually lived through. At the time, there seems to be nothing but whining and complaining and frazzled parents.
But for all that, the few days we spent in Portarlington between Christmas and New Year were good. I’d love to post lots of photos and videos of what we did, but the cameras didn’t make it out...
Christmas morning
Christmas was the usual paper-flinging orgy of new toys and clothes, much enjoyed by the two young kids. Kian broke all precedents by being not the last, but the first up on Christmas morning. In fact, he over-achieved somewhat, waking up at about 4:30am and refusing to go back to sleep.
